Product Description
(This kit will no longer include metal cans or tea cans. )
The Thermoelectric Generator is an experimental kit which demonstrates the direct conversion of heat into electrical energy using the Seebeck effect.
The key component is the Peltier module that will be sandwiched between the two metal cans. As long as there is a substantial temperature differential between the two sides of the Peltier element, sufficient electricity will be generated to power the electric motor to turn the propeller.
With easy-to-follow instructions, assembling this kit is a breeze.
Please Note: Metal cans should be tea cans and may not be sealed to hold water. You will need to apply paint, resin or glue to the seams and let them dry before doing your experiments.
Kit Includes:
23" Tie Straps (2)
Propeller 4"
DC Motor Round
Thermoelectric Generator
Thermal Grease
10" Velcro Hook & Loop Strips (must be cut to size)
2 Metal Cans/ dry tea cans may be required, but not included. Students may also use other sources of heat and cold.

Quality of the product
The two metal cans that came with the kit leaked so badly we ended up replacing them with different cans we had available to us. The kit addressed our project needs, which was the main goal, but I think it was way overpriced.
