Fumaric Resin
High-performance polymer for coatings and composites.Fumaric Resin
Fumaric Resin is a resin derived from rosin, modified with fumaric acid and partially esterified with glycerin. It is a solid material supplied in the form of stones or large grains, with a pale yellow to brown color and a slight aroma characteristic of rosin. The resin has a softening point of 155 °C to 164 °C, an acidity index of 180 to 205 mg KOH/g, and a maximum Gardner color of 9 when measured at 50% in xylol. It is soluble in ethanol, aromatic solvents, glycols, and aqueous ammonia systems, while being insoluble in water. It can be used in the manufacture of flexographic inks, paper inks, printing inks, varnishes, synthetic enamel, steam set inks, and road marking inks.
