Pulleys
A pulley is a wheel on an axle or shaft designed to assist in the movement and change of direction of a tensioned cable or belt, or the transmission of power between a shaft and a cable or belt. In the case of a pulley supported by a frame or shell that guides or exerts force on the cable rather than transmitting power to the shaft, the supporting shell is sometimes called a block and the pulley is called a cable sheave.
