Steel Powder, Iron Powder, 150-250 Micron, S100N
S100N is a coarse, dense, low-carbon iron and steel powder intended for industrial, technical, magnetic, welding, coating, and remediation applications. The product is supplied as a gray granular powder with strong magnetic properties and good flow characteristics. It is a dense elemental iron powder manufactured from molten iron, resulting in solid, dense particles rather than porous or sponge-type particles. The material is practically free of dust and has a controlled particle-size distribution concentrated primarily between 150 and 250 microns. The current Certificate of Analysis identifies the product as Coarse Steel Powder, granular in form, with an Fe-alloy chemical class and product code S100N. Iron content is at least 97%, and the material is insoluble in water.

Applications and Benefits:
- Suitable for magnetic applications requiring a strong magnetic response.
- Used as iron filings for magnetic applications and technical demonstrations.
- Suitable for use as a welding filler metal.
- High density, high iron content, and relatively low specific surface area support welding applications.
- May be used as anti-slip iron sand in epoxy flooring systems.
- Suitable as a stain or metallic additive for concrete tiles and decorative concrete applications.
- Suitable for art and coating applications.
- Used in groundwater remediation applications.
- Applicable to soil remediation and water filtration systems.
- Suitable for metallurgy and related industrial processing.
- Applicable to chemistry and chemical manufacturing processes.
- Dense, solid particles provide durability and consistency compared with porous or sponge-type iron particles.
- Good flow characteristics support controlled handling and dispensing.
- Controlled particle-size distribution provides approximately 95.5% of particles between 150 and 250 microns.
- Practically dust-free coarse particle structure helps reduce unwanted fines during normal handling.
- Strong magnetic properties support industrial and technical magnetic applications.
- Insoluble in water.
Caution:
Avoid breathing dust and minimize the generation and dispersion of airborne particles. Store in properly labeled containers and separate from oxidizing materials. The product is not classified as hazardous under the OSHA Hazard Communication Standard; however, handling or processing may generate dust that can mechanically irritate the eyes, skin, nose, and throat. Fine airborne dust clouds should be avoided because dispersed fine particles may form combustible or explosive mixtures with air in the presence of an ignition source. Follow the applicable Safety Data Sheet for personal protective equipment, handling, storage, and emergency procedures.
