Maleic Resin is a resin derived from rosin, modified with maleic anhydride, and partially esterified with glycerin.
It can be applied in the manufacture of flexographic inks, paper inks, printing inks, varnishes, synthetic enamel, steam set, and road marking inks.
PHYSICAL STATE: Solid.
SHAPE: Stones, large grains.
COLOR: Pale yellow to brown.
ODOR: Slight aroma characteristic of rosin.
SOFTENING POINT: 135 ° C – 144 ° C
ACIDITY INDEX (mg KOH / g): 25 – 40
COLOR GARDNER (50% XILOL): Max. 9
Soluble in esters, aromatic hydrocarbons, insoluble in aliphatic. Can be dissolved in petroleum solvents
