STAYBELITE ESTER #10, Glycerol Ester of Partially Hydrogenated Wood Rosin

Staybelite® Ester 10 is a glycerol ester of partially hydrogenated wood rosin supplied as a pale thermoplastic tackifying resin. It provides excellent resistance to oxidation and discoloration and is used where a pale, nonoxidizing, color-stable resin is required. The resin has wide acceptance in adhesive formulations, particularly pressure-sensitive, hot melt, solvent-based, and emulsion adhesive systems. It is compatible with a broad range of thermoplastic and elastomeric materials and can be emulsified for use with natural rubber, SBR, and neoprene latex systems. Staybelite™ Ester 10-E, WX91108 is also described as an ester of hydrogenated rosin supplied in technical-grade. Typical uses extend beyond adhesives to caulks and sealants, packaging specialties, carpet applications, graphic inks, film modification, labels, tapes, plastic modification, roofing, roadmarkings, specialty tapes, tire components, wire and cable, protective coatings, and depilatory wax compounds.

Caution:

For intended industrial and technical use only. If small particles or dust are generated during processing or handling, combustible dust concentrations may form in air. Minimize dust generation and accumulation and keep the product tightly closed when stored. Use appropriate ventilation and personal protective equipment. Wear suitable gloves, safety glasses, and protective clothing. Use heat-resistant gloves and a face shield when handling molten material. Molten resin can cause serious skin and eye burns. Keep away from strong oxidizing agents. In case of fire, suitable extinguishing media include water spray, dry chemical, and carbon dioxide; do not use a solid water stream. Dispose of material in accordance with applicable local regulations.
