Product Description
This thermocouple is a very simple and effective way to demonstrate the production of thermoelectric E.M.F..
When two wires of different metals joined at one end the other end is cool, electric charge flows through them.
We ship the thermocouple with attached plug. You may optionally remove the plug or cut the thermocouple for education, research and industrial applications.
This is a K type thermocouple that produces about 0.039 millivolts for each degree of Celcius.
For example it produces 41.276 mV when the junction point is heated to 1000ºC.
One wire is made of Nickel-Chromium alloy and the other is Nickel-Alumel.
It is often used to measure very low or very high temperatures (such as ovens and furnaces).
If you are looking for an educational thermocouple, please consider our product code LC1997.
