Product Description
Plasma Lamp was invented by Nikola Tesla. This plasma globe or plasma lamp (also called plasma ball, dome, sphere, tube or orb, depending on shape) is a clear glass sphere (3 inches in diameter) filled with a mixture of various noble gases with a high-voltage electrode in the center of the sphere. Plasma filaments extend from the inner electrode to the outer glass insulator, giving the appearance of multiple constant beams of colored light. Similar to aurora, but enclosed in a glass bulb.
Experience the wonders of physics and learn about the properties of high voltage and high frequency electrical energy. Also Demonstrates electrical discharge (similar to an electric arc).
Need a cool experiment? See how it can lit a fluorescent bulb that is in your hand.
Requires 4 AA batteries (not included). Individually boxed. Box size: 10 x 10 x 16 cm. Weight: 240 grams.

Fantastic!
I've only ever had one other plasma globe, and it was larger, so the arcs were more "classic", I'd say. But the difference found in the arcs produced by this 3" plasma globe is, in my opinion, its best feature! The soft, feathery, and almost ghost-like appearance that the arcs take on is wonderful, and is a joy to watch and observe. The required number of batteries for this plasma globe is 4, and the only downside to this globe is that it seems to use up my Duracell AA batteries fairly quickly over some hours. Could it be just due to the brand that I'm using? Not sure. Either way, I ask that you still give this product a fair chance. A fantastic plasma globe overall.
