Potassium alum is commonly used in water purification, leather tanning, dyeing, fireproof textiles, and as a component of baking powder. It also has cosmetic uses as a deodorant, as an aftershave treatment and as a styptic for minor bleeding from shaving.

We have bought this item several times. I would have give a 5 star except the last few orders the PotAlSUL has had giant clumps which make it extremely hard to use in our application.
