Product Description
This thermocouple is a very simple and effective way to demonstrate the production of thermoelectric E.M.F.. When two wires of different metals joined at one end the other end is cool, electric charge flows through them.
This thermocouple is an educational tool to show students the fundamentals of how thermocouples work.
Made of two different metal wires welded together in one end.
When the welded junction is heated, electrons jump from one wire to the other, but they cannot jump back to their original place. This will cause a small electric current. Since there is a relation between the temperature of the junction point and the amount of electricity, thermocouples are used to measure the temperature of ovens and furnaces.
