The overflow can is used to measure the volume of an irregular object and determine the density of an object or a liquid.
Overflow can is usually used in conjunction with a catch bucket or graduated cylinder. Suitable for density cylinders, sinkers and Archimedes principle devices.

The special design of overflow cans make them especially useful for student experiments with density cylinders and Archimedes’ Principle devices. The specially extended spout pipe assures complete collection of displaced water thus providing greater accuracy in density, displacement and specific gravity experiments.
